If that was the appeal of the show to you, there is nothing I can longer do about that. It was your opinion and you are entitled for that. Sometimes, there are theater plays or production that are too heavy to watch. Perhaps, it is because of the theme or the topic that is being diccussed on the play. Theme plays a huge role in setting viewers' mood. If it is too serious. There is a high possibility that some of your viewers may not understand or like it.
