1995 Imlay City, MI Nolan Hall The Wolverine Haller Ford Ranger. Nolan was a force particularly on the Michigan circuit. He began with modifieds and then 4 different TWDs. This, the 3rd would be responsible for 2 of his 4 RN2 TWD titles including the 1995 season. Nolan was one of the few and quite possibly the first modern, non-funnycar-style TWD to have a rollcage. 1998 NFMS Paul Waesch Wipe Out IH 966 Pro Stock. The Waesch family ran this PS for 11 years and collected 1 RN2 title in the process. It was sold, but Wipe Out Enterprises is still going strong today building everything from parts to turn key pulling tractors. Paul is still out there, too. I've seen him pulling a Farmall H at various antique events. 2004 DeKalb Super Pull Columbus, OH Ed Goertner Ford 6000. This was an earlier version of what Ed would go on to build for the NA/SS class which I have shown you previously here on COTD. He's still a force on the Central Ohio and Tri-State circuits. This tractor is still around. JP Dunn had it for sale as of this posting. Photos from all three days at the Mean Green Southern Nationals are now posted in the photo galleries. Click the link below. Enjoy.
Dirty Hooker Diesel Clip Of The Day 1998 Hillsdale, MI Joe Schumaker Terminal Velocity IH 1066 Pro Stock. It's the last weekend of September and it's chilly so TV is pretty ornery about starting up to come off the trailer. With enough start-ya-bastard, it finally did to head down to sloped horse track for a pass. As SF came in to being, Joe was one who would make the switch down a class. If you ever got up close to this tractor, it wasn't 30 foot gorgeous, it was mint at 30 inches. 1987 Centreville, MI Jim Craig. Jim ran in the light mod classes back when that was still a thing on the state and regional circuits. This would be the last year for this chassis with a single Donovan hemi as he would buy the Gopher from Ontario and add a send engine for '88. Jim would continue on up to a 3rd engine and run the state circuits until the mid 2000s. 2004 Dekalb Super Pull Columbus, OH. The Dekalb pull still lives on in Eaton, OH, but it has morphed a bit form what it once was. The original show was run on 3 tracks indoors in Columbus and was very well attended by antiques and up in tot some the central "brush" classes of the say. I'm not sure who the pilot is on this big, open rpm MM. Help me out if you know. 1991 NFMS Mike Swing Wild Fire mini. Why don't they have minis at Farm Show anymore? This was why... |
