1987 Centreville, MI Jim Craig. Jim ran in the light mod classes back when that was still a thing on the state and regional circuits. This would be the last year for this chassis with a single Donovan hemi as he would buy the Gopher from Ontario and add a send engine for '88. Jim would continue on up to a 3rd engine and run the state circuits until the mid 2000s.

2004 Dekalb Super Pull Columbus, OH. The Dekalb pull still lives on in Eaton, OH, but it has morphed a bit form what it once was. The original show was run on 3 tracks indoors in Columbus and was very well attended by antiques and up in tot some the central "brush" classes of the say. I'm not sure who the pilot is on this big, open rpm MM. Help me out if you know. 1991 NFMS Mike Swing Wild Fire mini. Why don't they have minis at Farm Show anymore? This was why... 1995 Enderle Pull Off Ft. Recovery, OH Tom Fleischman Brutus 4 Chevrolets. Tom scored 2 wins in the GN 7200 Mod class in 1995 fresh off his 1994 GN Championship, the only one he would capture. Original footage by Ted Coverdale. With a new wave of lockdowns starting, you'll have some time on your hands. So here's over 2 hours worth of stuff far better than anything on TV... unless of course you're wanting this on TV. 1997 Arcola, IN Kent Payne In 2 Deep IH 1066 Super Stock. It was early days for Kent back then. Before Rooster Cruizer or Super Rooster. He was finding his and is currently an absolute force on the GN level. Original footage by Ted Coverdale. 1997 Ionia, MI Bernie Pidgeon Longhorn Peterbilt/Detroit Diesel. A differrent sort of mandatory V12 today. This one a hyper 2-Stroke Detroit Diesel. I loved these trucks and wish they were still out on the tour. Not especially competitive, I admit, but the sound is like no other. Original footage by Ted Coverdale. 2000 Ft. Recovery, OH Gary Diekman Rat Poison Homemade chassis with 3 V12 Allisons. Mandatory Allison clip of the week. Always been a huge fan of the Rat Poison. I believe this was the first year running the triple and they sort of struggled to find the handle on it. Original footage comes from Ted Coverdale. 1991 NFMS Red Line Fever IH 1086 Super Stock. Bad day here. Axle failure puts the right rear on the smoke tube. If it was going to happen, better here, than down track at speed. You don't need this man's bio from me, but for those of you that love to put the KOS moniker on him, know that Yogi hates that... 1991 NFMS Wheeler Rittinger The Outcast II Twin Donovans. Wheeler is a Legend in the modified class. Winning early national titles with NTPA and with TNT in later years. This is one of the most unique driveline tractors ever built though as seen her in 1991, his final year, it was not the ultimate form. At one point, this tractor had joystick steering on it. |
