1997 Arcola, IN Mick Broughton Shock Treatment. Mick ran this Dakota bodied truck through the late 90s and early 00s in RN2 and on the Wolverine State Circuit. rare to find an all Mopar truck against the Chevy army sprinkled with Fords. On any given night though Mick was well up to the task with multiple wins. These days Mick is still a big Mopar devotee, but his true passion is fishing and he's more interested in winning those competitions instead of in the dirt. Tonight, we offer Session #1 of the Super Stocks from Arcola, IN back in 1992. There once was a time when both of pulling's oldest and grandest classes not only packed 'em in in the stands, but they would fill the pits, too. There's guys in this class that were not just almighty terrors in Region 2, many could drop the ramps at a GN hook and have the rest of the boys second guessing the setup. Give it a whirl and tomorrow, we can serve up night #2 of SS from Arcola '92. 1993 Mt. Gilead, OH Jerew Bros. Wild Times. The Jerew family has been in the Modified game for over 30 years. Regulars on the Ohio State Circuit with forays into IN and MI and RN2 hooks and always with Ford power on the framerails. This night would not be a good one, but they have persevered through time and are still out there running for it today. 1998 NFMS Don Masterson Tinker Toy. Not much needs to be said about the man or his accomplishments. The interview with Butch says it all. Tonight's offering is an editing of the 1986 Indy Super Pull for the USA Network featuring the 6200 TWD and the 12200 UNL. It is heavily edited down to really only show the runs that got guys into the pulloffs and the pulloffs themselves, but there is plenty of interview footage of from guys like Chris Holdorf, Dan Bieberich, The Professor Wayne Rausch, Max Simpson, Dave Banter, Bruce Hutcherson, and Tim Engler. 1997 NFMS Kenny Measel Mining For Dollars. 1997 would be the last year for the 4 charger setup that had originally come in the tractor when it was bought from Tom Morsey. A new Esdon Lehn 4 charger setup would go in for 98. It would be a lean year for the team, but a slew of wins and titles were just around the corner. Schedules are in a very fluid state for the coming season, if there is one. Some events are cancelling and others are rescheduling to whatever weekend they can manage. Please keep me informed of changes. If there is a vacancy on my calendar I can help you fill, I will try to do so. If your even reschedules and I am not able to personally attend due a conflict, I will reach out to other voices and try to find someone that can help you with your show!
Thanks for your understanding and please pray for this to be in the past soon! Charles 1999 Armada Fair Tony Sietsema Wolverine Deere SF. 1999 was very early times for the SF class and there simply were not that many of the tractors built. Tony was one of the early adopters coming out of West MI and what was then known as the Michigan Farm Stock Pullers Assoc. The very next year Tony would win the RN2 title, be named NTPA SF Puller of The Year and be on the way to being a master and leader of the SF class. There used to be a thing called the Ohio State Fair Tractor Pull. It was a huge event that went on all day long. It was paired for a time with BG in the Buckeye Challenge with extra money and prestige for the best puller across both events. The early 90s really had some strength behind it when it came to pulling events and the competitors who turned out to try and win it. Sadly, the OSF pull would not be long for this world. Today, it is merely a memory. I never got to see it in person and have pretty much no hope that it can ever return. Drop a comment below and share your OSF memories. |
