The full gallery of the Clark/Michigan Wheel Dozer/Dump Truck that was built locally and is 1 of 2 (the other is on the same site, but partially disassembled) that Isabella and I went to go shoot has been uploaded. It's a darn cool machine!

1997 NTPA RN2 Arcola, IN Floyd Hilton Floyd's Toy. You'd be forgiven for thinking that TWD truck bodies have always been nothing but T-Buckets and S10/Colorado bodies. Throughout 80s and part of the 90s, there was a stunning variety of bodies on TWDs. Floyd was known for having some of the more memorable ones, but certainly none was more unexpected to be found at a pulling track than this version of the Toy that ran a Porsche 917K body like that of the Group 5 sportscar racer that would win the 24 hours of Lemans in 1970 & 1971. Hilton would win several Regional championships. 1987 Centreville, MI What could be more iconic than the Heartbreaker 2 sled with the famous "You Know We're Gonna Get Ya!" slogan on it and a non traditional powered modified. The late 80s were the beginnings of the convergence to zero with hemi-everything. A hood is still covering the engine (sorta) and that engine... A V12 Continental Tank Engine. The zoomies down the side are actually the air intakes and the exhausts are via the twin stacks through the hood. Notice also the lack of a slipper clutch as evidenced by that holeshot. Machinery like this doesn't just still exist, you can see them hook at National Tractor Pulling Legends shows. 1997 NFMS Kenny Sanders The Enforcer. Sanders was one of the strongest diesels in a class where it seemed the smokeless alternatives had been in with a shout since way before the fuel wars that would characterize the same time period depicted here in the heavy classes. Twice a GN champ in the 5500 SS, the move toward 6000 lbs at the turn of the century would find him, and a lot of other small-frame tractor pullers, left out and retiring. 2000 North Branch, MI ATPA Grand American Dennis Johnson Shagnasty. Johnson's ACs & AGCOs were notoriously hard-charging. Go or blow seemed to be the way of it. 2000 was certainly a GO year for the Nebraskan. This winning run laid down over 4th of July weekend would carry him through to the 2000 ATPA National Title. 2010 Tony Burkhard Dirty Hooker Original. This was the final season for the OG Hooker, but that didn't mean that progress was going to stop. The new for 2011 LML-code Duramax was going to feature a new engine block with a lot thicker main webs for greater strength. The production trucks had yest to see widespread availability, but that didn't stop Turbo Tony from having one to build up for the pulling tracks. Bowling Green Pro Stocks presented by Fill-Rite Bacon Bit$ and PMS Marketing. Tonight, much of the country is beginning to see a relaxation of the restrictions we all confront. While this does not mean a quick return to motorsports, I hope you share my optimism that we can soon start enjoying racing and life once more. Tonight is a cool moment-in-time show. The last BG before the rollcage rule. You will find one of the over 50 competitors sporting one, and a handful with a ROPS of one sort or another, but most are still open station, though that was soon to end given the Walsh incident at the Fort mere days later. Please enjoy! Locke Performance Clip Of The Day 1995 NTPA Enderle Pull Off Hale Woodward Super Chevy. Woody ran the Unlimited for roughly 15 years. A lot of the time with a fairly conventional Banter setup. He did try 2 things I am curious about. Before retiring, he ran a box-frame chassis that I'd like to know more about and if you know of video of his 1989 tractor running 2 Allisons and 2 Chevys, please drop me a note! |
